Pujols went 2 for 4 and his single put the Phillies in hot water in the eighth. Each player was able to depart for a pinch runner at a big moment after collecting what could've been a pivotal hit. Pujols is easily a first-ballot Hall of Famer and Molina is probably headed that way himself. Pujols left for a while by signing a gargantuan deal with the Angels, but the two still combined to play for the Cardinals for over 4,000 games in the regular season, not to mention the deep postseason runs that included World Series championships in 20. Pujols, Molina go out with hitsĪlbert Pujols debuted for the Cardinals on April 2, 2001. His first career playoff save comes right here with the Phillies clinching their first playoff series since the 2010 NLDS. He induced a Tommy Edman foul out to end the game.Įflin's first career save came in the game that the Phillies clinched their first playoff berth since 2011. There was trouble, again, as Eflin recorded two outs before allowing singles to Corey Dickerson and Molina. Then it was former starter Zach Eflin, who only has one career save in the regular season and just started working late-inning situations late in September of this year, taking over in the ninth. He gave up the Pujols single before the aforementioned strikeouts to end the threat. It was Domínguez when they came in during the eighth inning with one on and one out. He induced an inning-ending pop out by Yadier Molina. It ultimately did its job and didn't allow a run in 3 1/3 innings.įirst, it was José Alvarado who took over for Nola with a runner on in the seventh inning. Phillies bullpen gets the big outsĪs noted, Domínguez wiggled out of trouble with some huge pitches and that was the theme for the much-maligned Phillies bullpen. Seranthony Domínguez struck out both of them to end the threat. The biggest moment of the series, in fact, came in the eighth inning after Albert Pujols singled to make it runners on first and second with one out, trailing 2-0. A big swing from either one of them could've turned the tide and possibly kept the season alive. They each left four men on base here in Game 2. Arenado went 1 for 8 in the series, though he did hit a few balls hard and ran into some good defense and rough batted-ball fortune. It seems to have carried over, mostly on Goldschmidt's end. Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado might both finish in the top three of NL MVP voting, but neither was great in the last month of the season. Goldschmidt and Arenado continued to struggle He made some huge pitches, particularly striking out Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado with a runner on base to end the sixth. He got through 6 2/3 scoreless and allowed only four hits (all singles) and one walk while striking out six. Wheeler was good in 6 1/3 innings in his first career postseason start in Game 1. Not just in the run prevention department, but they both need to get deep into games, given the shaky bullpen situation. If the Phillies are to make any kind of run this postseason, they'll need great work from their two aces in Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola. The Harper homer along with the breathing room provided from the insurance run were all the Phillies needed. In related matters, Bohm also made two sparkling defensive plays at third base. The Phillies would later tack on a run with a Kyle Schwarber sac fly in a rally that was started with an Alec Bohm double. That was Harper's sixth career playoff home run in 80 at-bats.

11/21/2023 0 Comments Yellow leaves on vegetable seedlingsPlacing a fertilizer solution on the end of your hose and washing off your plant from top to bottom on occasion will also simulate a rainfall situation, he explained. Does the plant look tall enough or is it the same height as a month ago, which may mean you need more fertilizer? Wash your hands thoroughly before you continue working on other healthy plants to avoid spreading any disease between plants.Īlso, ask yourself if you have been fertilizing regularly. When removing leaves, be sure to remove them with a clean hand and properly dispose of the leaf. Remove that leaf, spray a fungicide and hopefully the problem will be resolved by early diagnosis. “The bottom line-any form of yellowing is not good,” he said.Įven if you don’t know the cause, remove any yellow leaf and throw it away in case it is diseased so it will not spread and infect others. On the Aggie Horticulture website, the vegetable resources link provides a vegetable problem solver where you can look at different common problems you may encounter in Texas. Roundup injury to tomatoes creates a bleaching effect from the inside to the outside of the leaf and affects the newest growth of the plant such as the youngest leaves and shoots. “Gardeners should avoid Roundup near the vegetable garden because tomatoes are super sensitive to Roundup,” Masabni said. This will help in preventing buildup of those salts within the container itself. If you are growing tomatoes in a container and your water contains a heavy amount of salt, once in a while water the container until it leaches out, so the salt can run through the soil and flush out of the container. Salt damage – not just table salt or sodium chloride, but any excess mineral – can result in yellowing. Physiological disorders can produce yellowing of the leaf The most common fungal disease seen in Texas is powdery mildew or early blight, which starts from the bottom of the plant and moves up as the leaves die off. Most fungal and bacterial diseases cause some kind of yellowing, he explained. Powdery mildew is first noticed on older leaves as a yellow spotted appearance, that upon closer inspection has a whitish-gray powder on the surface. Better yet, buy a soil moisture meter and use it regularly as a guide on when to water.” Diseases may present with yellow leaves “If it feels dry, it’s time to water, and as the tomato plants get closer to full maturity, they will require more and more water. “There is no perfect recipe for how much water your tomato may need, but a good rule of thumb is to do a moisture test where you place a finger several inches deep in the soil to test for moisture near the roots,” he said. It is good to keep in mind, that with the use of a lot of fertilizer, the plant will also require a lot of water. “Those three – nitrogen, iron and magnesium – are the most common nutritional deficiencies growers should pay attention to and fertilize regularly for,” Masabni said. A magnesium deficiency however will produce yellowing that looks more like speckles or spots on the older leaves. Yellowing of leaves can also be the result of an iron deficiency in the plant, but this will be most prominent in the youngest leaves. The older leaves turn yellow because they are providing their nitrogen to the younger leaves to survive. If you don’t fertilize enough with nitrogen, the older leaves will begin turning yellow and, in many cases, may fall off. Tomatoes are heavy feeders, meaning the plant requires twice the amount of fertilizer that a cucumber needs, and even four times the amount as beans, he explained. “Nitrogen is the most common cause, because people generally don’t fertilize tomatoes enough,” Masabni said. Nutrition can be a cause for yellowing leaves on tomato plants Typically, yellowing leaves are a result of a nutritional imbalance or disease outbreak, but other causes can play a part. Masabni, an assistant professor in the Department of Horticulture in Texas A&M University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, explains that a healthy plant that is well maintained and not stressed by disease or nutrition should have green leaves from the bottom to the top. Yellowing leaves on tomato plants can be caused by multiple issues. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Seaweed fertiliserPlus, fermenting seaweed is a natural process that does not involve chemicals or other processes, meaning no harmful chemicals to dispose of, or any greenhouse gases emitted during the manufacturing process.ġ00% Organic – As seaweed is a natural product with no chemicals added to the growth stage, seaweed fertilisers are certified as organic. This means that there is no environmental damage within the harvesting methods, as seaweed is a renewable source that can easily be harvested within its many ocean locations. Sustainability – Firstly, seaweed is a renewable source that can and is effortlessly harvested. Also, the production method of seaweed has a greater environmental benefit than traditional fertilisers. There are many beneficial differences between seaweed fertiliser products and more traditional fertilisers.Īlthough seaweed itself contains a fewer amount of nutrients, it does have many other benefits that are not seen with traditional fertilisers. Since then, the volume of awareness of the impacts traditional fertilisers have on the environment, and the benefits of using sustainable practices and products, means people are now opting for responsible options to avoid the depletion of natural resources and to aid long-term environmental quality. Meaning bio-stimulants are a natural product that can help plants grow stronger and healthier. In agriculture, 'bio-stimulant' is defined as materials, other than fertilisers, that promote plant growth when applied in small quantities. Many types of seaweed and seaweed extracts have been used for years in commercial crop productions, due to their positive effect on yield and plant growth.Īs many people worldwide are trying to become more sustainable and do their bit for the environment, products such as this are becoming more popular commercially and within homes, to meet plant food demands.Īs seaweed is a natural by-product, it is known as a biofertilizer or a bio-stimulant and offers more benefits than conventional fertilisers on the market. When seaweed is harvested, the seawater is rinsed away and the seaweed can decompose/ferment in water, until it is broken down into a slurry or liquid. It is simply as it suggests a fertiliser that has been created from natural seaweed sources. Therefore, this natural formula within the seaweed extract will foster and transfer this technology onto the biomatter it is applied to, when used as a seaweed fertiliser, building resistance against the environmental stresses it encounters. Seaweed, otherwise known as Ascophyllum Nodosum, contains anti-stress compounds and has evolved to be resilient within its natural environment which is constantly changing. The seaweed used within Hydra SeaGrow is naturally grown in the wild, within the Atlantic Ocean, and has nothing added to it in its growing season so is classified as 100% organic seaweed. Our organic seaweed extract concentrate improves the biological activity within soil, to improve strength and resilience within plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, fruit, vegetables, herbs, lawns, and crops grown within homes, gardens, and allotments. Hydra SeaGrow is an organic seaweed liquid fertiliser, designed to enhance and encourage the growth of plants with the natural goodness of seaweed. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Skate it wii cheatsThe game moves along at a brisk pace, throwing quick little tests at the player. For those that put the time into it, though, there is more depth to be discovered and a greater variety of challenges. It takes longer to become comfortable with the controls in Skate It, and the trick system is much more nuanced. This is a much less casual game than Shaun White Snowboarding, this holiday's other action sports title that utilizes the Wii balance board. Shortly after starting you're whisked off to a bunch of real locations, anyway, so this whole disaster premise is pretty arbitrary. But once you get into the game you don't really think about where everyone is. Was this setup just an excuse for the developers not to populate their environments? Maybe. It's in ruins, but has left a bunch of skateable areas for you and no one is left to get in your way. The rather ridiculous premise here is that San Vanelona, the city Skate took place in, has been destroyed by some sort of disaster. Another irksome multiplayer quirk is that, even if you're skating with just a remote, each player has to pass around the same one - you can't all hold your own controllers. Seems like it would have been easy enough to save each player's calibration settings to make for a more breezy multiplayer experience. That means if you're taking turns on the board in a multiplayer game, it has to recalibrate for each person, every time. What is annoying is that it has to recalibrate every time someone steps on and off. I doubt Skate It was originally designed with the balance board in mind, but it's nice to have the option to use it. Playing with just the remote is less precise than Skate was, and riding the balance board is even less so. Whenever you replace a button press with some sort of body movement you lose precision and that is the case here. Playing this way can be fun but it's definitely more challenging. You still hold the remote to push and grab, but steering and tricks are pulled off by leaning and bouncing on six different areas of the board. More adventurous gamers can step on the Wii balance board and control the game with their feet. This is a deep and challenging game that encourages players to get creative with their skating. While not all of the controls work as well as they should, there are enough options here that you should be able to find an input method that works for you. Using just the remote, a remote and nunchuk, or the balance board, players jet around the world in a quest to get sponsored, become a pro skater, and trick on every object in sight. Instead of flipping an analog stick to do tricks, the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities are used to finesse your onscreen skateboard. Now Skate makes its way to the Wii as Skate It, with an even more literal interpretation of this "flick it" idea. Electronic Arts' take on the genre introduced "flick it" controls and mapped all tricks to dual analog sticks, a method that turned out feeling less arcadey than Tony Hawk. Gamers comfortable skateboarding with complex button combinations received a rude awakening last year when Skate arrived on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Touchdown kansas city shirtHe can still turn it around in the second half of the season, similar to his performance last year. Īccording to the Scottish National Dictionary, its Scottish name may derive from the diminutive form (+ suffix -ie) of the word cook, giving the Middle Scots cookie, cooky or cu(c)kie. Another claim is that the American name derives from the Dutch word koekje or more precisely its informal, dialect variant koekie which means little cake, and arrived in American English with the Dutch settlement of New Netherland, in the early 1600s. The American use is derived from Dutch koekje "little cake," which is a diminutive of "koek" ("cake"), which came from the Middle Dutch word "koke". From 1808, the word "cookie" is attested ".in the sense of "small, flat, sweet cake" in American English. The word cookie dates from at least 1701 in Scottish usage where the word meant "plain bun", rather than thin baked good, and so it is not certain whether it is the same word. Ĭookies that are baked as a solid layer on a sheet pan and then cut, rather than being baked as individual pieces, are called in British English bar cookies or traybakes. In Scotland the term "cookie" is sometimes used to describe a plain bun. The container used to store cookies may be called a cookie jar. However, in many regions both terms are used. However, the thick consistency made the concealer quite easy to blend and the weird gritty bits DID blend away. But when you look at it closely, it almost looks…gritty? Like there are chunks/chunky bits in the concealer. It goes past creamy – it’s more of a mousse texture. And when you’ve finally gone past the watery substance and you get the concealer, it’s got the weirdest consistency. No matter how much you shake the tube it ALWAYS happens. Overall – I really don’t like this concealer.įirstly, when you squeeze the tube this weird watery substance comes out. But OH WELL, let’s casually look over that. It’s like a little brush which is equally useless as it is unhygienic. The applicator is the kind of applicator you find on the “click-pen” highlighters such as the YSL Touche Eclat.
